Welcome to ShakeAlarm Earthquake Early Warning System!

Please email us to register with the trial program. We will respond with an activation code you can use when you first launch the app.

Please type in the Activation Code you’ve been emailed and then click the Register button. If you do not have an activation code, use 0000.

Once you have entered the code, the app will present you with the Setup screen. By default, ShakeAlarm uses a standard alert graphic and alarm sound, but you can replace both of these. Click on the small Camera icon to replace the alert graphic. Click on the small Microphone icon to replace the alarm sound.

You might use a picture of yourself if your young children have their own phones, so they recognize the alert as a personalized warning. And you can record an alert in your own voice, such as “Timmy, this is Mom. This is important, please stop what you’re doing and follow our emergency plan.”

Once you have configured and saved these changes (click on the Save Settings button), there is nothing else you need to do. If an alarm is generated, you will receive a loud notification on your phone. You can click on the Stop Alert button to silence it.

As we move through the test, we will email participants to let them know if we’ll be doing simulated alerts for testing purposes. The feedback we need is to confirm first of all that you received the alert, and secondly that any configuration changes you made to the alert graphic and/or alarm sound worked as intended.
